Freewat-Q3 course: registration is now open. The aim is to introduce participants to numerical modelling of groundwater flow and solute transport. Applications by Friday 13 September

Registration is now open for the FREEWAT-Q3 course, which aims to introduce participants to numerical modelling of groundwater flow and solute transport in aquifers. The course is organised by theInstitute of Crop Science of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa and is an initiative within the PRIMA NEXUS-NESS research project . The course is free of charge and will be held in mixed mode (with lectures in presence at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa and/or online) in Italian.
What is FREEWAT-Q3
FREEWAT-Q3 is a free and open source platform for the simulation of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, salt intrusion phenomena and the joint use of surface and groundwater for water resource management in rural environments.
Who the course is aimed at and how to enrol
The course is mainly addressed to recent graduates, PhD students, students and students of Master's degree courses and professionals who intend to start a path in hydrogeological modelling or want to understand the potential and uses of numerical simulation tools for hydrogeology.
The course consists of a theoretical and a practical part during which simple hydrogeological modelling exercises will be carried out with the aid of QGIS and FREEWAT-Q3 software.
The deadline to apply is Friday 13 September 2024 at 1 pm.
